Data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine show that foreign investment has increased by 2.6% or $840 million to a total of $33.724 billion since the start of this year. During the first months of this year the influx of investments in the Ukraine's economy amounted to $1.2 billion. The largest foreign direct investment (FDI) volume was recorded between January and June.

Reportedly, 2016 saw the heaviest investments in the amount of $3.28 billion. FDI amounted to $2.35 billion last year.

The largest investors in Ukraine were Cyprus with $388.8 million, followed by the Netherlands with $295.1 million, Russia with $145.5 million and Switzerland with $100.3 million.

According to Andrei Shevchishin of the Forex Club Group, this is good news, given that the indicator fell by more than half in 2015 as against 2016. The volume of foreign investments in the Ukrainian economy before the crisis reached a peak in 2011 when this figure exceeded $6 billion.
