ПАСЕ ОЗАБОЧЕНА УЩЕМЛЕНИЕМ ПРАВ ЖУРНАЛИСТОВ, ПОВСЕМЕСТНОЙ КОРРУПЦИЕЙ НА УКРАИНЕ

Депутаты Парламентской ассамблеи Совета Европы (ПАСЕ) обратили внимание на то, что в последнее время Служба безопасности Украины запретила въезд в страну нескольким российским журналистам на основании того, что якобы они представляют угрозу национальной безопасности. «Запрет въезда журналистам в Украину должен быть средством, которое применяется лишь в исключительных случаях», - говорится в резолюции ПАСЕ.

По мнению участников ассамблеи, повсеместная коррупция на Украине остаётся главным поводом для озабоченности. «Затяжное отсутствие конкретного прогресса в этой сфере, а именно судебных приговоров и конкретных тюремных заключений, может потенциально снизить эффект амбициозных реформ власти и, в конце концов, подорвать общественное доверие к политической и юридической системе в целом», - предостерегает ПАСЕ.

Темпы борьбы с коррупцией на Украине ассамблея считает слишком медленными, а конкретные результаты этой борьбы – очень ограниченными. ПАСЕ требует, чтобы нынешний украинский режим незамедлительно обеспечил специальному антикоррупционному прокурору достаточные ресурсы для исполнения его обязанностей, а также создал специализированный антикоррупционный суд.

РОССИЯ, ЕГИПЕТ ВХОДЯТ В ПЯТЁРКУ ГЛАВНЫХ ТОРГОВЫХ ПАРТНЁРОВ УКРАИНЫ

По итогам 11 месяцев прошлого года доля России в общем украинском экспорте составила 9,8% или 3,2 миллиарда долларов. Кроме Российской Федерации, в пятёрку самых крупных торговых партнёров Украины вошли Египет (доля экспорта 6,2% - два млрд. долларов), Турция (5,7% - 1,87 млрд. долларов) и Китай (5,2% - 1,7 млрд. долларов).

При этом эксперты отмечают, что от скупых квот Евросоюза и потери российского рынка особенно сильно пострадало птицеводство на Украине.На этот сектор приходится около 40% украинского экспорта. Однако соглашение об ассоциации устанавливает мизерные квоты беспошлинной торговли на большинство сельскохозяйственных товаров.

На украинский мёд, например, было отведено так мало, что квоту исчерпали за первые шесть недель. Квота на экспорт яиц в Евросоюз примерно равняется 1,5% годового производства одной-единственной компании «Авангард», не говоря уже обо всех остальных представителях отрасли.

Gazprom gets access to 80% of OPAL pipeline, builds Nord Stream 2

In accordance with the decision of the European Commission the Russian gas group Gazprom gets access to 80% of the Germany’s OPAL pipeline. Observers think if Gazprom can carry more natural gas, using the OPAL pipeline, this will allow the Russia’s state-run monopoly to decrease amounts of gas carried through the Yamal pipeline running across Poland and Byelorussia. The OPAL pipeline has a capacity to carry 25.6 billion cubic meters of gas.

In addition, the consortium, which is responsible for the implementation of the project of laying the Nord Stream 2 pipeline on the Baltic seabed, plans to apply to Finnish, Danish and German regulators for permission to build the pipeline. After the third and fourth lines of Nord Stream 2 are put into operation, Gazprom will shut off the Ukrainian gas transportation network from the transit system.

Incidentally, the Czech Republic is currently importing Russian natural gas, in the main, from Nord Stream 1 via Gazela and OPAL pipelines.

Readers of The Ukrainian Times know that Gazprom controls 15% of the world’s known natural-gas reserves. The Russian group is going to be passing along gas for a long, long time. Like a coiled spring, Gazprom stocks are cheap to start with. Not having any idea of what would happen, some investors think the cheap bird in their hand is a better bet than the expensive birds somewhere in the future bush.

Russia deploys Triumph, Iskander missile systems near Feodosiya

Recently, eight S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems have been deployed near the Crimean town of Feodosiya. They reinforced the second battalion of the 18th anti-aircraft missile regiment while the first battalion is outfitted with the S-300 PS systems. 

Triumph systems have a range of 400 kilometers, capable of hitting targets within airspace above parts of the Kherson, Zaporozhye and Donbas regions. Previously, the Iskander tactical missile systems, which have a range of 500 kilometers, were stationed in the St. Elijah Cape near Feodosiya. They can hit ground targets in Romania. 

Overall, Russian troop strength is forecast to reach 43,000 in Crimea by 2025. The number of armored vehicles and submarines that the Russian Black Sea Fleet has in service there today is what it was during Soviet times.

The purpose of Russia is to convert Crimea into a strategic military base, capable of challenging successfully the old and faulty NATO. In fact, the Russian peninsula is outfitted with the latest weaponry, including Pantsir air-defense missile systems and Bastion antiship missile complexes.

Politologist Paul Craig Roberts wrote that to perpetuate American hegemony, power-crazed fanatical neoconservatives threw away the guarantees, which Washington gave Moscow, that NATO (essentially the United States) would not move one inch to the East. As Russian President Vladimir Putin once put it, Moscow has nonstandard solutions up her sleeve and no one will succeed in winning military superiority over Russia.

Moldavia may annul EU association agreement

During his recent visit to Moscow, Moldavian President Igor Dodon said he would give a rap over the knuckles to those Romanian politicos who allege that there is no state in Moldavia and its statehood should be eliminated. Russian President Vladimir Putin made his Moldavian counterpart a gift of the map of the Moldavia’s Principality of the 18th century that occupied the territory of the present Romania and Ukraine, namely some parts of the Odessa and Vinnitsa regions.

In addition, Igor Dodon does not rule out the possibility of annulling the association agreement with the European Union after parliamentary elections scheduled for the end of 2018. “The agreement gave no advantage to Moldavia,” he stated.

According to many observers, the EU arrangement is bad business. Allocations for Ukrainian honey, for example, were so low that they were filled in the first six weeks of the year. Quotas to export eggs to the EU equate to around 1.5% of just (one Ukrainian company) Avangard’s annual output, let alone that of the entire agrarian sector.

Germany poised for process of detente in relations with Russia

Recently, a ship delivered 87 tanks, artillery mounts and other weapons from the United States to the German port of Bremerhaven. Plans are afoot to place the weapons on Russia’s borders in the Baltic states for the purpose of reinforcing NATO troops there.

According to the local media, the American evil empire unloaded the tanks in Germany to wage a criminal war against Russia. Public protests against the weapons shipments were held in Bremerhaven. Protesters marched through the city, holding signs and banners that read, “No NATO deployments! End the militaristic march against Russia! Out of NATO.”

Importantly, members of Bundestag stated that such steps taken by the NATO (essentially the U.S.) would entail the exacerbation of relations with Moscow, spiraling tensions between European countries and Russia to new heights. They insisted that Germany refuse to use its territory for the weapons shipments and transportation of NATO troops while leading the process of detente in relations with Moscow.

As the Chairman of the State Duma (Russia’s parliament), Sergey Naryshkin once put it, NATO is the malignant tumor of the entire European continent. “It would be better if this organization disbands,” he said.

The evil Clinton regime broke the word of the government of the United States, thereby destroying the honor of the U.S., by taking NATO to Russia’s borders. The evil Obama regime engineered a neo-Nazi coup in Ukraine with intent to deprive Russia of its Black Sea naval base in the Crimean port city of Sevastopol. However, faced with a Russophobic, Washington-installed government in Ukraine, the Russian population in Crimea, a Russian province since 1783, voted practically unanimously to rejoin Russia where Crimea had resided until Nikita Khrushchev reassigned the Russian province to Ukraine in 1954.

Economic indicators: trade

The export turnover of Ukrainian goods amounted to $29,113.2 million and the volume of import to $31,202 million in January-October 2016, a 7.9% and 0.1% decrease respectively from the same period of 2015. The unfavorable foreign trade balance worked out to $2,088.8 million, compared with a favorable foreign trade balance of $397.1 million in January-October 2015.

Export to the European Union rose by only 2.4%, compared with January-October 2015. According to many observers, former president Viktor Yanukovich was correct not to sign a tightfisted trade deal with the faulty EU. Consider the collapse of Ukraine’s once lucrative agriculture industry. Especially the poultry business, which due to miserly EU quotas, and the loss of the Russian market, has been decimated.

Within the period under review export to Russia, Egypt, Turkey, China and India recorded its biggest volume.

A retail trade turnover increased by 3.7% to 1,042.6 billion grivnas in Ukraine in January-November 2016, compared with the year-earlier period. The share of organized and unofficial markets in the pattern of retail trade turnover accounted for 30.9%.

The turnover of enterprises of wholesale trade rose by 4.9% to 1,336.9 billion grn in January-November 2016, compared with the year-earlier period.

Play draws parallel between exploits of Young Guard members and present-day situation

Actors of the Academic Regional Drama Theater based in the Russian city of Vladimir have put on the performance that is a staged version of Alexander Fadeev’s novel The Young Guard.

Remarkably, the play draws a parallel between exploits of members of the Komsomol underground organization Young Guard, which worked in the enemy’s rear in the town of Krasnodon, Lugansk region, during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45 against German fascist invaders, and the present-day situation. For instance, a coal mine on the stage, where underground workers are subjected to torture, changes into barricades made of tires, like the ones at the so-called ‘Euromaidan’ in Kiev. At the same time, Ukrainian jingo crazies sporting pro-fascist symbols of the neo-Nazi gangs Azov and Right Sector turn into German Nazi war criminals.

Recently, the actors of the Russian theater have presented the play to students in the city of Makeevka, Donetsk People’s Republic.

In this context, it is important to note that many observers say today the American establishment media are finally issuing mea culpas for the self-interested support of ‘Euromaidan’, the Western-backed coup, which destroyed Ukraine. Take, for example, the New York Times that has acknowledged how, despite its own fervent encouragement of the violent coup, former president Viktor Yanukovich was correct not to sign a tightfisted free trade deal with the faulty European Union.

МАРИН ЛЁ ПЕН СЧИТАЕТ ПРИСОЕДИНЕНИЕ КРЫМА К РОССИИ ЗАКОННЫМ

Лидеру французской партии «Национальный фронт» и кандидату в президенты Марин Лё Пен могут запретить въезд в Украину сроком на пять лет. Такие радикальные меры украинский режим принял после заявления Марин Лё Пен о том, что она считает воссоединение Крыма с Россией законным. Во время выступления на французской радиостанции RMC она отметила: «Я абсолютно не считаю, что была нелегальная аннексия: состоялся референдум, жители Крыма изъявили желание присоединиться к России».

Сегодня Марин Лё Пен является одним из самых рейтинговых кандидатов в президенты Франции. Согласно последним опросам, она проходит во второй тур, где будет соперничать с представителем партии «Республиканцы» Франсуа Фийоном. Первый тур выборов во Франции состоится 23 апреля.

ЗАДЕРЖАННЫЕ РОССИЙСКИЕ ВОЕННОСЛУЖАЩИЕ СЧИТАЮТ ОБВИНЕНИЕ НЕЗАКОННЫМ, НЕСПРАВЕДЛИВЫМ

Российский омбудсмен Татьяна Москалькова и её украинская коллега Валерия Лутковская посетили Николаев, где в СИЗО находятся двое военнослужащих
из Крыма – Максим Одинцов и Александр Баранов. Татьяна Москалькова отметила, что задержанные пребывают «в удовлетворительном состоянии, одеты опрятно, но их беспокоит предъявленное обвинение, которое они считают незаконным, необоснованным и несправедливым».

До 2014 года Одинцов и Баранов служили в украинской армии, в подразделении, дислоцированном в Сакском районе Крыма. После референдума Одинцов и Баранов перешли на службу в армию Российской Федерации. Они были задержаны агентами украинской службы безопасности 20 ноября 2016 года на границе с Крымом. Против них открыто уголовное дело по обвинению в дезертирстве и государственной измене.
