Baltika Breweries passes international audit

Bottoms up! Recently, the large Russian company Baltika Breweries, which is the part of Danish brewer Carlsberg, has been audited in accordance with the new versions of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and ISO 14001:2015 environmental management international certification standards. All of the company's eight breweries from St. Petersburg to Khabarovsk meet the global requirements.

The audit at the Baltika enterprises was conducted by the authoritative international accredited registrar DNV GL. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are two of the five standards that establish a single integrated management system at the enterprise. In addition, Baltika Breweries boasts three more standards, namely the food safety management system, occupational safety and health, and energy management.

The company has a consumer hotline available to everyone to put a question to experts and make suggestions concerning the quality of food products, environment, and occupational safety, among others.

БОЛЬШИНСТВО УКРАИНСКИХ ПЕНСИОНЕРОВ ПОЛУЧАЮТ ПОСОБИЯ В РАЗМЕРЕ ОТ 2 ТЫС. ДО 3 ТЫС. ГРН

По данным пресс-службы Пенсионного фонда Украины, пенсии в размере более 10 тысяч гривен в стране получают 2% пенсионеров. Известно также, сколько получают остальные украинские пенсионеры.

У 8% граждан Украины размер пенсии составляет от 5 тыс. до 10 тыс. грн., от 4 тыс. до 5 тыс. - у 6%, и от 3 тыс. до 4 тыс. - у 12% пенсионеров. Однако большинство украинцев на заслуженном отдыхе, их 44% от всего количества пенсионеров страны, получают пособия в размере от 2 тыс. до 3 тыс. грн.

Есть на Украине и те, кому Пенсионный фонд платит ещё меньше: 1% пенсионеров получают пособие в размере до 1,4 тыс. грн., 11% - от 1,4 тыс. до 1,5 тыс., 16% - 1,5 тыс. до 2 тыс. грн.

Service robots made by Russian company operate in 26 countries

The Perm-based company Promobot - short for Promotional Robot - is the large Russian manufacturer of autonomous service robots in Northern and Eastern Europe. Today several hundred Promobot robots operate in 26 countries, working as administrators, promoters and museum guides in banks, museums and other institutions.

Experts say as people start to benefit personally from service robots in their home and garden and as popular consumer-orientated companies like Google and Amazon create and use robot technology, public attention and acceptance is further increasing.

According to Gartner Inc., AI-derived business value is forecast to reach $3.9 trillion by 2022. Companies in the automotive, aerospace and defense and retail sectors are likely to be the most transformed by artificial intelligence in the years ahead, according to a market analysis by UBS Group AG. Other sectors that will see the highest impact from AI include banking, media, support services, technology, telecoms and transportation, the Swiss banking giant told investors in a recent report.

РОССИЯ ВХОДИТ В ДЕСЯТКУ ЛИДЕРОВ ПО МВР, НА 52-М МЕСТЕ - УКРАИНА

Согласно сообщениям СМИ, по показателю международных валютных резервов (МВР) Украина находится в настоящее время на 52-м месте в мире. Золото в объёме МВР Украины составляет 1/20 часть (около 1,002 миллиарда долларов в эквиваленте).

Всё остальное - это иностранная валюта. Причём почти все средства вложены в ценные бумаги иностранных эмитентов.

Возглавляет рейтинг по размеру МВР в долларах Китай (3072,7 млрд). На втором месте - Япония (1270,9 млрд), а на третьем - Швейцария (796,6 млрд). В десятку лидеров по МВР входят также Россия (472,6), Республика Корея (403,7) и Индия (396).

Считается, что МВР в норме, когда они превышают три месяца импорта. На Украине сейчас - 3,5 месяца.

WDC project nominated for NST Sustainability Award

The global concept of sustainable development is built on the necessity of striking a balance between the satisfaction of the current needs of humankind and protection of the interests of future generations, including their need for the safe and healthy environment.

To raise awareness of the global devastation of the world's vital natural and non-renewable resources, as well as to make their contribution to an improvement in the quality of life on the planet, members of the Nobel family of a Swedish descent made the decision to establish the Nobel Sustainability Trust (NST).

The NST founders believe that the economic and social health of civilization largely depend on the availability of energy, and a sustainable approach to agriculture, forestry, industrial manufacturing and water reclamation. This requires substantial intellectual and financial efforts.

The objective of the NST is to provide assistance in this very direction.

In accordance with the partnership agreement between the Kiev Polytechnic Institute named for Igor Sikorsky and NST, the Igor Sikorsky KPI was identified as the NST Representative in Ukraine, and work of the Secretariat of the National Nomination Committee has been organized at this university.

The National Nomination Committee of Ukraine includes noted scientists who enjoy prestige and confidence in academic circles, and their scientific interests are within the realm of the NST mission. Among them are Boris Paton, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU) and Head of the Committee; Anton Naumovets, First Vice-President of the NASU; Mikhail Zgurovsky, Rector of Igor Sikorsky KPI; and Sergei Sidorenko, corresponding member of NASU.

The meeting of the National Nomination Committee of Ukraine on the NST Sustainability Award was held under the chairmanship of Boris Paton on February 20.

The Committee reviewed the results of the examination of works submitted by Ukrainian institutions and scientists to participate in the national stage of the first 2018-2019 competition for the NST Sustainability Award, particularly the Institute of Cybernetics under the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics, etc.

After considering the results of the examination by experts, the Committee has decided to nominate the local project "Development of the Online Platform for Systems Analysis and Scenario Planning of Sustainable Development for Countries and Regions of the World in the Context of Quality and Security of Human Life" for the next stage of the review and selection of top nominees. This project was drawn up by the World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development (WDC).

РОБОТЫ РОССИЙСКОЙ КОМПАНИИ "ПРОМОБОТ" РОБОТАЮТ В 26 СТРАНАХ

KPI concludes MoU with DASAN Networks

The Kiev Polytechnic Institute named for Igor Sikorsky (KPI) and the company DASAN Networks of South Korea concluded the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on February 20.

In particular, KPI Rector Mikhail Zgurovsky and Min Woo Nam, President of DASAN Networks, signed the document. South Korea's Ambassador to Ukraine, Lee Yang-Goo, who also took part in the signing ceremony of the MoU, introduced the head of DASAN Networks to KPI administrators.

DASAN Networks manufactures network equipment for fixed and mobile broadband services, develops software, as well as renders services to telecom service providers. During negotiations preceding the signing, Min Woo Nam took the greatest interest in possibilities for cooperation with KPI in areas pertaining to the telecommunications industry, particularly software product development. Therefore, introducing the university to South Korea's guests, Mikhail Zgurovsky highlighted the institutes and departments that train specialists for the telecom sector and conduct relevant research.

MoU lays down the general principles of further cooperation, which should be specified after the detailed study of promising areas aimed to form a partnership. If necessary, specific joint projects may be subject to separate agreements. According to Mikhail Zgurovsky, the signing of this document is the first step towards the development of cooperation between the KPI and DASAN Networks in various forms and areas.

КПИ ЗАКЛЮЧИЛ МЕМОРАНДУМ О ВЗАИМОПОНИМАНИИ С КОРЕЙСКОЙ КОМПАНИЕЙ DASAN NETWORKS

20 февраля Киевский политехнический институт имени Игоря Сикорского (КПИ) и компания Dasan Networks (Республика Корея) заключили Меморандум о взаимопонимании.

Со стороны КПИ им. Игоря Сикорского документ своей подписью скрепил ректор, академик Национальной академии наук Украины Михаил Згуровский, а со стороны Dasan Networks - президент компании Мин Ву Нам. Главу Dasan Networks представил руководству университета Чрезвычайный и Полномочный Посол Республики Корея на Украине Ли Янг Гу, который также принял участие в церемонии подписания Меморандума.

Компания Dasan Networks работает в сфере телекоммуникаций. Её продуктами являются оборудование для проводных и беспроводных коммуникаций, программное обеспечение, а также услуги для телекоммуникационных предприятий. Естественно, что наибольший интерес Мин Ву Нам во время переговоров, предшествовавших подписанию, вызвали возможности сотрудничества с КПИ им. Игоря Сикорского именно в касающихся этой сферы направлениях и особенно - в создании программного продукта. Поэтому, представляя гостям из Южной Кореи университет, Михаил Згуровский особое внимание уделил институтам и факультетам, которые готовят специалистов для телекоммуникационной отрасли, и где проводятся соответствующие исследования.

В Меморандуме определены общие принципы дальнейшего сотрудничества, которые должны быть уточнены после детального ознакомления сторон с перспективными с точки зрения налаживания партнёрских отношений направлениями их деятельности. Конкретные совместные проекты могут, в случае необходимости, оформляться отдельными соглашениями. Таким образом, по словам Михаила Згуровского, подписание этого документа является первым шагом на пути развертывания сотрудничества между университетом и компанией по различным формам и направлениям.

Most Ukrainians see recession as biggest threat

Recent polls show that more than half of Ukrainians consider the massive leaving of citizens for abroad (55% of the respondents) and an economic recession (52%) to be imminent threats to this country. At the same time, 47% and 39%, respectively, of the pollees recognize the impoverishment of the population and inflation as the greatest threats to Ukraine.

The opinion polls found that about one in three respondents, 34%, fear the deterioration of nation’s health. In addition, 33% of Ukrainian citizens view the breakup of this country as the most immediate threat.
