KPI, CU representatives agree to cooperate

The Kiev Polytechnic Institute (KPI) named for Igor Sikorsky and the India-based Chandigarh University (CU) concluded the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on April 11. In particular, Sergey Sidorenko, KPI Vice-Rector for International Relations and corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and CU Vice Chancellor Rajinder Singh Bawa initialed the document.

The memorandum was drawn up to extend scientific contacts and cooperation between higher education institutions of Ukraine and India. Among other things, the document provides for the reform of the teaching process, scientific advice, and work on joint research projects.

Prior to signing of the MoU, the representatives of the two universities, including Rajan Sharma, Deputy Director of the CU Department of International Relations, and Yevgeni Polishchuk, Head of the KPI Department of International Relations, discussed the areas and mechanisms of cooperation. In addition, the participants in the meeting exchanged promotional materials about their universities. It is important to note that CU boasts the unique corporate advisory board, which consists of more than 150 senior functionaries who are members of leading corporations such as Microsoft, IBM and Samsung Engineering.

Before the meeting, the Indian guests got acquainted with exhibits at the State Polytechnic Museum, particularly the Igor Sikorsky Department of Aviation and Astronautics History, and the historical part of the KPI campus.
