Key players of Ukraine's energy market to meet in Kiev

The key event of the year for the Ukrainian energy sector, namely "II Ukrainian Energy Week'19", organized by A7 CONFERENCES, will be held at the Kiev-based Fairmont Grand Hotel on September 24-26. The event is supported by the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association and the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine.

The event features three important Ukrainian forums that have been bringing together key players for several years:

- IV Ukrainian Oil and Gas Investment Forum'19 | September 24

- ІV Ukrainian Renewable Energy Forum’19 | September 25

- IІ Ukrainian Housing Cooperative Forum’19 | September 26.

This year the priority lines of Ukraine's energy development will include Eurobonds and unbundling of the natural-gas transportation system, as Ukraine consumes virtually a third of energy resources at the expense of natural gas. Owing to the relevance of the topic, the first event of the energy week will be the Ukrainian Investment Oil and Gas Forum, which will traditionally discuss the oil and gas market in Ukraine, its development and integration into the EU.

Increasingly, renewable energy sources enjoy popularity in Ukraine. As of January 1, this country has generated 2,239 megawatts of renewable energy: the capacity of all wind generating facilities amounts to 533 MW, solar power facilities to 1,389 MW, and bioenergy facilities to 97 MW. Experts determine the key points of the elaboration of future investment projects to cheapen them and speed up their implementation due to keen competition. Auctions, an increase in the number of power plants and other pressing issues will be covered at the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Forum that is expected to focus on wind power, solar and bioenergy technologies.

Energy efficiency is undoubtedly relevant to Ukraine, not only in the broad sense, but also to each building. Housing associations (HA) are actively resolving the problems of winterization of houses. According to Gennady Zubko, minister of regional development, construction, housing facilities and public utilities, today the number of HA amounts to 33,000 in Ukraine that is 2.5 times more than in 2014. He said 77.5% of apartment buildings and 77.7% of non-residential premises were equipped with heat energy meters. Ukrainians should applaud the government official, but remind him that what makes a real difference is more deeds. In consideration of growing interest in the HA topic, the Ukrainian Housing Cooperative Forum will take place for the second time, gathering HA chairpersons, board members and the members of action teams.
