Ukraine exports pork to other markets as Russia imposes embargo

Unfortunately, Ukraine sold only 900 tons of pork abroad in the first quarter that is 4.5 times less than in the same period last year. A cut in the export of pork from this country can be explained by the fact that Russia imposed an embargo at the end of 2015.

After the loss of the Russian market, Armenia and Hong Kong have become big importers of Ukrainian pork. The share of Armenia and Hong Kong in the import of pork from Ukraine accounts for 55.3% and 25% of total volume respectively. However, this cannot compensate Ukrainian producers for the loss of the Russian market.
